Q: Grinding Coffee Beans in a Cuisinart?
I picked up a large bag of whole coffee beans by mistake and don't have a coffee grinder. Has anyone tried grinding then in a Cuisinart?

A: I tried it in my small cuisinart food chopper and it ruined it. The directions said I could do it, but the beans pitted the plastic so bad it was almost opaque. I agree with the above answer...the large food processor won't work. Your grocery store will exchange the beans for ground, though.

Q: Do you use your Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender chopper/grinder attachment to grind coffee beans?
With 200 watts of power, I would think that you could, but its not mentioned in the instruction booklet. It also said that some spices would scratch the prep bowl, I assume that's nutmeg?

A: If you want to grind coffee beans, I recommend buying an inexpensive spice grinder. They run abut $20 and are quite handy. I've use them for over 20 years to grind coffee. Hope this helps! Dave
