Q: how much coffee to i put in a coffee maker to make 2 cups?

A: 1 lvl tablespoon per cup up to 5 cups. Jeez Rashid, write a book why don'cha?

Q: What is the size of a "cup" of coffee?
Wikipedia says it's 6 oz but my Mr Coffee is calibrated in 5oz "cups" and my Braun coffee maker is calibrated in 4.2 oz "cups". This is all rather irrelevant because most people drink coffee in mugs that are 12 oz or more, but it's annoying. It must be very confusing to some people.

A: I have a '12 cup' U.S. made coffee machine. I make 8 cups of coffee and get 2.5 cups of coffee out of it. I measured the cups one time and they are only 4 oz. which means when I have company I am constantly having to make another pot of coffee. I wish the manufactors would wake up to the fact that most of us drink a lot more than 4 oz of coffee at a time!

Q: Can anyone help me! I have a 25 year old corning stove top coffee maker purk not sure how 2 use?
Its a 6 cup with a twist top dont know how to set that., and a twist on the spring loaded filter stem. Do you twist it down? Do you leave it floating? When it starts to purk shut it off? How long should it purk? I love this old thing,Please, someone help me use it properly I want to use it right!

A: Don't know if this will work with yours, but no you don't twist it down the top will twist around and holds it.When it perks it takes about 5 minutes, done.Don't fill all to the top it will boil over.leave about a cup of spaceEnjoy.

Q: Question about the coffee to water ratio when making coffee.?
All right. So i bought a coffee maker that grinds the WHOLE coffee bean for you then it automatically drops the coffee grounds into the basket. How much WHOLE coffee beans should i put in and how much water should i put in if i plan on making 2 cups of coffee?

A: Coffee is measured in 5 ounces per cup. A 12 cup pot is 60 ounces and you use no less than 2 ounces (about 2 tablespoons) of coffee to brew. You do the math. I don't know how many beans that would be. there should be directions on the package of beans or on the maker/grinder you have. (My maker says not to brew coffee with less than 2 ounces no matter how much water you use because if you don't use at least that much coffee, it will be oily.)

Q: How much coffee do i add?
I have a little 4 cup coffee maker...and first off, i cant figure out what 4 cups means...because it cant be 4 measuring cups...cuz its too small for that...what do they mean 4 cups? cuz it only fills about 1 1/2 mugs. secondly...how much coffee do i put in for 4 cups of coffee? im just using regular folgers coffee.

A: one heaping tablespoon should do it

Q: how to make coffee without coffee maker?
my coffee maker broke so i tried this: put 1 or 2 teaspoons of coffee in a cup poured hot water in it put coffee mate and sugar in it is this right? i would ask my parents but they wont let me drink coffee i cant buy any coffee stuff, my parents wont let me drink coffee and im only 14 i cant go alone unless i go with a friend

A: That will work if you want gritty coffee, because the coffee grounds do not dissolve... If you don't have a coffee press, you may be SOL. Coffee presses allow you to pour hot water on the coffee, but then presses down with a fine mesh device to keep the coffee bits out of the liquid you'll drink. If your parents have a tea strainer, you could use that.

Q: Which coffee maker do you suggest?
I am SO confused. My husband and I have never owned a coffee machine and want to get one. We were hoping to get something that can make regular drip coffee but we also want cappuccinos ocassionally. There is so much stuff out there that my head is spinning. So, is there someone who can help? My first criteria is that it should be VERY simple to operate. Dont care about too many bells and whistles. Also, I dont want to spend more and more on additonal accessories and parts. We're not BIG coffee drinkers but do enjoy 1-2 cups of coffee. IS there any machine that makes both drip coffee and cappuccinos? Are they any good anyway? I am also looking for somehting within $100, actually more around $50 or less. Please help!

A: i use a bialetti stove top maker, its the best coffee i ever had bialetti.com

Q: Can you help with my tassimo coffee/tea maker?
I rcvd a tassimo, but no directions. Im wondering if there is a way to adjust strength of the coffee? or increase amnt of water it uses? the coffee only makes about 3/4 cup, choc 1/2 cup. please help! thanks

A: Tassimo User Guide http://www.tassimodirect.com/Tassimo/cust/user_guides.aspx - Espresso - 3 oz / 90 ml cup - Filter Coffee, Café Crema, Cappuccino, Latte, Tea and Chocolate - 11 oz / 325 ml cup

Q: Too early to capture the warmth of the holiday spirit? These coffee's might change your mind?
To a mug of coffee add a handful of semi-dark chocolate chips (or whichever you like best) and then stir the coffee with a candy cane which you leave in for as long as you like. One or two red and white striped mints work too. If that doesn't provide enough degenerate pleasure, then top with whipped cream and maybe sprinkle some cinnamon. Cinnamon spiced coffee 2/3 cup Coffee 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 cup granulated sugar or firmly packed brown sugar 6 cups cold water Place coffee and cinnamon in filter in brew basket of coffee maker. Place sugar in bottom of carafe of coffee maker. Fill coffee maker with water; brew. When brewing is complete; stir with wooden spoon until well mixed. Serve immediately with milk and additional sugar, if desired. Experiment with other spices too, like nutmeg, cloves and fennel, allspice or whatever else you like. Enjoy! Don't have chocolate chips available? Use Nesquick, chocolate flavor, if handy.

A: Thanks for the recipes! If there are people in your home that do not drink coffee (little kids for example) or you don't want caffeine, try the peppermint candy cane in hot chocolate, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream instead of milk. Yum! Happy Holidays!

Q: Coffee Maker problem?
My new (6mo old) coffee maker recently started taking over an hour to brew a pot and loses almost 2 cups in the process any ideas on how to fix or why this is happening? I do clean it on a regular basis with vinegar and wash it out daily.

A: If your coffee gets to hot it will make steam and thus you will lose cups of water. it may be faulty and I personally would get rid of it . Is it under Warranty ? You could take it back. It could be a potential fire hazard. Coffee makers are not that expensive , and why take the chance at burning down your house over a cup of JAVA.

Q: How much current will these appliances draw from a 120 v circuit?
1) 1200 w stream iron 2) a 600 w, two-cup coffee maker 3) a 60 w stereo 4) a 40 w lamp

A: 10 5 0.5 0.33 Watts= Volts X Amps. So amps = Watts/ Volt 1200W/120 Volts = 10Amps.

Q: How do I keep the coffee grounds out of my coffee???!!!?
EVERYtime I make coffee, some of the grounds manage to get into the coffee itself! I only use 2 small scoops in my filter to make a 10 cup pot of coffee. I thought it was my coffee maker, so I bought a new one, but the very first day I started using it, the coffee grounds were there!!!! So it's obviously something that I'M doing wrong. How do I fix it?! AARRGGHH!!!

A: Your coffee maker sucks. The water level gets high in the filter bucket causing slip over which results in grinds in your coffee. Buy a better more expensive coffee maker or just chew on the grinds, yum!

Q: Making the perfect pot of coffee?
I was never a big coffee drinker , but drinking coffe alot , especially in the morning when I get up .. Here's the situation. First off I buy Foldger's Gourmet Special for coffee. I tried three flavors so far and right now trying carmel drip. I store my cofee in the freezer, people have told me to either store it in the fridge or freezer. Not sure if the freezer is the correct way to store it ? So I have a 4 cup coffee pot and not sure how many tablespoons of coffe to put in the filter. tried 4 to 6 tablespoons and then someone told me that it was too much! so added 2 tablespoons like suggested by the person ( cause I am using only a 4 cup coffee maker ) , buit the coffee was really weak. I went back to 4 tablespoons of coffee and can drink the coffee to a point , but really bitter and yucky tasting !! Oh and I don't use tap water I use spring water from a spring water. - Best way to store coffee? -How many tablespoons of coffee do I use for my small 4 cup cofee maker?

A: putting the coffee in the freezer is a good way to preserve the taste but keeping it in the cabinet is alright too it doesnt get bad tasting unless you leave it for a long time and dont use it. you should use one teaspoon per cup of water plus a half teaspoon so for your coffee machine i would use 4 and a half teaspoons to make a full pot.

Q: Issues with Mr. Coffee Ice Tea Maker?
I have recently bought this product, which is great. But, I am having some trouble with adding sugar. If I add Splenda to the basket at the top it works fine and mixes well. But, if I add regular sugar it just clumps up in the basket and plugs it up and tea is still left at the top in the basket. Why is this? I don't mind using the Splenda, but it's more expensive than regular sugar, so I'd like to use both to try to save some money. Any ideas about the regualr sugar? Also, how much sugar do you use for a 3 quart pitcher? I've been using about 1/2 cup.

A: There may not be enough time for the sugar to disolve. Do you have a food processor? If so, pour about a cup of sugar into your processor, and let it spin for a few minutes. This will turn the sugar into super fine sugar. Try that, and see if it works! :) Don't use powdered sugar. There's cornstarch added to that which will make a slimey mess! Good luck!

Q: Broken Coffee Pot Help??
Before I throw away my Mr. Coffee coffee maker, I thought I would see if anyone knows how to fix this problem. The coffee pot turns on you can set the time and timer. It goes off fine. However, after it hits 2 cups, it shuts off. All the power goes completely off! Does anyone know if this is fixable? And incase your being smart, yes I know I can just buy another. Thank you,

A: the muffler bearings are bad,lol . sorry couldnt resist. but on a more serious note the burner is over heating and shutting it down , the only repair is a new pot, sorry
